On Tuesday, one of our Off Port Limits Service Launches was engaged to transport a load of stores to a laden VLCC off Cape Town, in boisterous weather. In addition, a large number of foreign crewmen were taken to the ship and the off-signing crewmen were delivered back to shore.
A routine operation in all aspects, except that this particular operation coincided with the arrival of a mighty swell, peaking at 8 metres.
Our valiant professional Launch Crew, together with our custom-built steel-hulled catamarans, were able to provide a relatively comfortable ride for the passengers and still operate safely.
That said, we still prefer the calm water days!
